COMMENDEE 2020-21: Alecia is Commended for transforming the care and support offered to care leavers at HMP/YOI Preston, and, more widely, in her role as a sessional Chaplain in the prison.

COMMENDEE 2020-21: Rowan is Commended, as a volunteer Drama Tutor, for setting up highly successful theatre companies for prisoners at HMPs Gartree and Stafford, harnessing the power of Shakespeare to transform people’s lives.

COMMENDEE 2020-21: Described as “an absolute credit to the service”, Jason is Commended, as a PEI at HMP/YOI Hatfield, for his boundless enthusiasm and creativity, continually looking for, and finding, ways to enhance the lives of both prisoners and staff.

COMMENDEE 2020-21: Chris’s Commendation is for going “far above and beyond” his role as Catering Manager at HMP Kirkham, transforming not only the prison’s food, but also the health and well-being of prisoners and staff throughout the establishment.

COMMENDEE 2020-21: Sara’s Commendation is for her outstanding contribution, on top of her main job, to HMP/YOI Hindley’s Decency Team, leading to significant improvements in safety, staff-prisoner relationships, and the jail’s rehabilitative culture.

COMMENDEE 2020-21: Tracey receives a Commendation for her outstanding contribution to health and well-being at HMP Kirkham, using her leadership, drive and imagination to bring real benefits to the lives of prisoners and staff across the establishment.

COMMENDEE 2020-21: Jacqui is Commended for “her compassion, hard work and dedication to her patients”, consistently driving up standards of care, over more than 25 years, first as a nurse, and now as Head of Healthcare, at HMP Grendon.
